Awami League to remain banned until trial ends

 

The Advisory Council has temporarily banned all activities of the Awami League.

 

Today (10/05/2025) after a 3-hour emergency meeting from 08.00 to 11.00 pm, Advisor for law afairs Asif Nazrul announced this. Some important amendments to the International Crimes Tribunal have been approved by the Advisory Council. He said that a circular will be issued on the next working day and the July declaration will be published within the next 30 working days.

 

That is, all political activities of the Awami League will be suspended until the trial of the Awami League in the International Crimes Tribunal is over.

 

Student crowds across the country are rejoicing over the banning of the Awami League for carrying out mass killings in July-August 2024.
