Israeli air strikes on various government offices in Lebanon, killing 5 including the mayor
Israel launched an airstrike during a meeting in the municipal building in the southern Lebanese city of Nabatieh on Wednesday. Apart from this, several local government offices were also attacked. The Ministry of Health said that at least five people, including Nabatieh Mayor Ahmad Kahi, were killed in these attacks.
Local officials said Israeli warplanes have carried out more than eight attacks on several nearby towns. Several people were killed in these attacks. Also damaged property.
Rescue workers are working to rescue anyone trapped under the rubble in those areas. Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that there was a municipal council meeting on the service and support situation of Nabatieh city. It was then that Israel deliberately targeted the building.
An eyewitness described the attack as ‘frenzied terror’. He said that Israel has carried out at least nine airstrikes on the city in just 30 minutes. He also reported seeing an ambulance rushing to the scene after the attack.
After these terrible attacks, the Israeli army said in a statement that several Hezbollah installations were targeted in the Nabatieh area.
