US presidential election

Kamala was ahead even a month ago

The citizens of the United States will go to the polls on November 5 to choose their new president.

The citizens of the United States will go to the polls on November 5 to choose their president. This year’s US presidential election was supposed to be a repeat of the 2020 election. But last July, US President Joe Biden withdrew from the election and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the candidate of the Democratic Party. Now the question is, is the United States going to get its first female president, or is Donald Trump returning for a second term?

As the election day approaches, the results of various polls are becoming more important. The various campaign strategies of the Democratic and Republican parties are also having an impact on the rise and fall of support in the polls. However, Kamala was ahead in the survey even a month ago.

At the moment, Kamala is ahead of Trump in the US national poll average. Kamala has been ahead of Trump in national polls since the start of the election race last July. According to the website FiveThirtyEight, which recently analyzed the US ABC News survey, Kamala is two points ahead of Trump in the national polls. Orange’s support is 48 percent and Trump’s 46 percent.

Earlier on September 10, the two candidates took part in a face-to-face televised debate in Pennsylvania. 6.7 million people watched that debate. Most polls conducted that week showed a positive effect of Kamala’s performance in the debate. He has advanced in many polls. In one day he advanced up to two and a half percent. But Trump’s support was growing before the debate. After the controversy, his support waned somewhat. A week after the debate, Trump’s approval rating dropped by 1.5 percent.

These polls mainly indicate how popular a candidate is across the country. However, they cannot be perfect predictors in determining election results. This is because the United States has the Electoral College system. It determines the electoral votes of the states on the basis of population. In this, the milestone of 270 Electoral College votes must be passed to go to the White House out of the total 538 Electoral College votes in the United States. As such, the account of swing states in the United States has become important.

At the moment, according to the polls, there are indications of a close fight between the two candidates in seven important swing states. The difference between the two candidates is one or two points in these states. The most important of these is considered to be Pennsylvania. Because there are 19 electoral college votes in this state. So winning here makes the job of getting 270 Electoral College votes easier.

Orange leads by one point in Pennsylvania, according to FiveThirtyEight. After that, Trump leads by one point in the state of North Carolina, which has 16 Electoral College votes. Orange leads Nevada by one point, Michigan and Wisconsin by two. Trump leads in Arizona and Georgia by one point.

Kamala met with Muslim leaders

According to the news agency Reuters, Kamala is busy campaigning in Michigan in the United States. He met Arab-American and other Muslim leaders in the city of Flint there last Friday. The country’s Arab-American and Muslim voters are angry about the continued support of the United States in Israel’s ongoing wars in Palestine, Gaza and Lebanon. In this situation, Kamla Harris made the meeting as part of an effort to regain their support.
